| | |
| - | - |
| Scope | `mcp:write` |
| Annotations | `destructiveHint: true` |
| Activity event | None. The project's activity log is deleted with it. |

<Warning>
  The project and its data can't be recovered. Auxilian has no trash or restore.
</Warning>

## Who can delete a project

The project creator, and the owner and admins of the project's workspace. Write access alone isn't enough. See [Permissions](/reference/permissions#project-permissions).

## Parameters

<ParamField body="projectId" type="string" required>
  Project id from `list_projects`.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="confirmName" type="string" required>
  The project's exact name, as `list_projects` returns it. Matching is case-sensitive. This guards against deleting the wrong project by id.
</ParamField>

## Result

<ResponseField name="deleted" type="string">
  The id of the deleted project.
</ResponseField>

## Example

```json Arguments theme={null}
{ "projectId": "01k7m3x9q2v8d4h6n1r5t0w2yz", "confirmName": "Old experiments" }
```

```json Result theme={null}
{ "data": { "deleted": "01k7m3x9q2v8d4h6n1r5t0w2yz" } }
```

## Errors

| - | - |
| `ACCESS_DENIED` | The project doesn't exist, you aren't its creator or a workspace owner or admin, or the connection is read-only |
| `VALIDATION` | `confirmName` is missing or doesn't match |

| Message | Cause |
| - | - |
| `confirmName is required: pass the exact project name` | No `confirmName` |
| `Type the project name exactly to confirm` | `confirmName` doesn't match the project's name |
