# create_project

> Create a new project in a workspace where you are the owner or an admin.

Creates a project: a new, empty Postgres schema. You become its creator and get write access.

## Parameters

<ParamField body="name" type="string" required>
  Project name, 1 to 80 characters. Leading and trailing spaces are trimmed and repeated spaces are collapsed.

<ParamField body="description" type="string">
  Optional description, up to 200 characters.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="workspaceId" type="string">
  Workspace id from `list_projects`. You must be the owner or an admin of that workspace. When omitted, the project goes in a workspace you own, or else the first workspace where you are an admin.
</ParamField>

## Errors

| Code | When |
| - | - |
| `ACCESS_DENIED` | You aren't the owner or an admin of the workspace, or you have no such workspace |
| `VALIDATION` | The name is empty or longer than 80 characters, or the description is longer than 200 |
| `QUOTA_EXCEEDED` | The workspace already has 10 projects |
