# Activity log

> Review every schema change, row write, sharing change, and refused write in a project.

Every project keeps an activity log. Open a project and select the **Activity** tab to see it. Anyone who can open the project can view its activity.

## What the log shows

The tab lists the 100 most recent events, newest first. Each event has:

| Column | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Action** | What happened, such as `table.created` or `insert_rows` |
| **Surface** | `web` for the web app, `mcp` for an AI assistant |
| **Actor** | The person who acted, or who approved the AI assistant that acted |
| **Details** | Specifics such as `count: 3 · table: books` |
| **Created at** | When it happened |

An AI assistant always acts as a person, so the actor is the person who approved the connection and the surface is `mcp`.

## Recorded actions

| Action | Recorded when | Details |

| `project.created` | The project is created | `name` |

| `table.dropped` | A table is dropped | `table` |
| `column.added` | A column is added | `table`, `column` |
| `column.dropped` | A column is dropped | `table`, `column` |
| `insert_rows` | Rows are inserted | `table`, `count` |
| `update_rows` | Rows are updated | `table`, `count` |
| `delete_rows` | Rows are deleted | `table`, `count` |
| `member.invited` | Someone is given access, or their permission changes | `email`, `permission` |
| `member.revoked` | Someone's access is removed | `email` |
| `write.denied` | A write to the project was refused for lack of access | `tool`, `reason` |

Row events record the table and the number of rows, not the values. See [Activity events](/reference/activity-events) for more detail.

## Show one kind of event

Add `?action=` and an action name to the activity URL to list only that action. For example, to see only refused writes:

## Retention

Events older than 90 days are deleted automatically. Deleting a project deletes its activity log.
