# Connect Claude

> Add Auxilian to Claude as a custom connector so Claude can read and write your projects.

Auxilian runs a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Once you add it to Claude, Claude can list your projects, design tables, and read and write rows as you.

## Prerequisites

* An Auxilian account. Sign in once at [app.auxilian.ai](https://app.auxilian.ai) with Google.
* A Claude plan that supports custom connectors. On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner may need to allow custom connectors first.

## Add the connector

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open connector settings">
    In Claude on the web or desktop, open **Settings** > **Connectors** and select **Add custom connector**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the server details">
    Set the name to `Auxilian` and the URL to:

    ```text theme={null}
    https://mcp.auxilian.ai/mcp
    ```

    Leave any OAuth client ID and secret fields empty. Auxilian registers Claude automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in with Google">
    Claude opens a browser window to Auxilian's sign-in page. Sign in with the Google account you use for Auxilian.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve access">
    Auxilian shows an approval page that names the app asking for access, the account it will act as, and what it can do. Select **Allow** to finish, or **Cancel** to stop.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Check>
  The connector now appears in Claude. Ask "What Auxilian projects can you see?" to confirm it works.
</Check>

## What Claude can do

Claude gets the same access you have, in every workspace you belong to:

* Read every project you can open, including its tables and rows
* Create projects in workspaces where you are an owner or admin
* Create tables, add and drop columns, and insert, update, and delete rows in projects where you have write access

Claude cannot share projects, invite people, change roles, delete projects, or delete your account. Those actions are only available in the web app.

Every change Claude makes appears in the project's **Activity** tab with the surface `mcp` and your name as the actor.

## Enable the connector in a chat

Depending on your Claude settings, you may need to turn the connector on for a conversation. Use the tools menu in the chat composer to enable **Auxilian**.

Claude may ask for permission before calling a tool. Auxilian marks its read tools as read-only and its `delete_rows`, `drop_column`, and `drop_table` tools as destructive, so clients can treat them differently.

## Disconnect

To stop Claude from using Auxilian, remove the connector in Claude under **Settings** > **Connectors**.

<Note>
  Auxilian does not yet list or revoke connected apps from its own settings. Manage connections from the app you connected.
</Note>

  <Accordion title=""Your session changed"">

  <Accordion title="Claude says the connection was approved read-only">
    The app requested read access only. Remove the connector and add it again, then approve a request that includes write access. See [Approvals and access](/ai/approvals-and-access).

  <Accordion title="Claude can't see a project">
    Claude sees only projects you can open in the web app. Check that you are a member of the project's workspace and that the project is shared with you. See [Permissions](/reference/permissions).
